It is very easy to prepare this dish and it does not take much time. The main ingredient in this dish is curd/yoghurt. The sourness of curd, crispy onions, and spicy chillies give it a very delicious taste.
Ingredients
- Curd - 2 cups
- Oil - 2 spoons
- Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
- Urad dal - 1/2 spoon
- Curry leaves - few
- Onions - 1
- Garlic cloves - 3 (crushed)
- Green chillies - 3
- Red chillies - 2
- Turmeric powder - a pinch
- Salt - to taste
- Water - 1 cup
Preparation
- Add water to curd and prepare buttermilk. Add salt and stir it nicely.
- Cut the onion into small pieces.
- Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, urad dal, and curry leaves
- Add onion pieces, crushed garlic cloves, cut red chillies and green chillies. Fry them till it turns brown
- Now add a pinch of turmeric powder and heat it for a few more seconds.
- Finally add this to the buttermilk and your "perugu pulusu" is ready to serve.
